This process – actualized as an emotion, an attachment, a kind of relationship – asserts individual perception at the nexus of utility and luxury. A metaphor for experience — a blank slate that morphs with context.

TECHNICALLY EXACTING. CONCEPTUALLY CLASSIC. A theory fundamental to the PARS UNUM design process, ‘classic’ is not a stationary set of ideas, but rather a sensibility that is continuously in transformation. Referencing late 1980s–1990s sport, the collection presents homage while perpetually musing on the next progression of classic — establishing an ever-evolving design paradigm.

HANDCRAFTED IN ITALY. PARS UNUM is produced by hand at a prestigious family-run facility in a small coastal town in Southern Italy. Led by a master pattern cutter, artisans carry knowledge and techniques from the ateliers of storied fashion houses. Supple vegetable-tanned Italian lambskin interplays with technical coated polyamide, accented by custom powder-coated hardware and industry-leading luxury zippers.

PARS UNUM WAS CONCEIVED BY CREATIVE DIRECTOR JIMMY RAU AND ACCESSORY DESIGNER FABIOLA PEDRAZZINI. THE TWO WORK CLOSELY BETWEEN RESEARCH, DESIGN AND PRODUCTION.

J. RAU (b. New York, 1984) studied design at PRATT INSTITUTE in New York, working through two and three dimensional challenges for over ten years, including projects in branding and experience design.

F. PEDRAZZINI (b. Milan, 1982) attended Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Italy, subsequently serving in production houses for CHANEL and LOUIS VUITTON. In 2011, she released an eponymous accessories label, garnering international press and retailers such as SAKS (US) and ESTNATION (Japan).
